Greetings from GSK President

Heekyoung Chung President,
Genetics Society of Korea
Distinguished Colleagues, You are cordially invited to ICGSK 2023 in Busan, Korea. After a three-year hybrid format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are thrilled to announce the return of our face-to-face conference. As an esteemed international event held annually since 2015, ICGSK has become a familiar gathering for many of you. However, allow us to highlight the exceptional aspects of ICGSK 2023.

Under the theme "Advances in Cancer Genetics: Past, Present, and Future," ICGSK 2023 will feature renowned domestic and international speakers who have made significant contributions to cancer genetics. Dr. Philip Tsichlis (Ohio State University, USA), Dr. Sunghoon Kim (Yonsei University, Korea), Dr. Matthew Meyerson (Harvard University, USA), and Dr. Ho-Young Lee (Seoul National University, Korea) will provide invaluable insights into the progress and vital role of cancer genetics research.

Building on the success of the special session with Thailand in 2019, ICGSK 2023 proudly presents the inaugural 'Asian Genetics Session¡¯. Esteemed speakers from China, India, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand will gather to foster scholarly discussions, friendship, and collaboration, emphasizing the significance of genetics across our neighboring countries. We are delighted to announce the signing of MOUs between GSK and GST (Genetics Society of Thailand) during the Session, which further strengthens academic ties.

The conference offers a diverse range of programs over three days. The prestigious "GSK Scholar of the Year" award ceremony, followed by a lecture from the recipient, sets the tone. The "Main Symposium," hosted by the Academic Subcommittees, will cover six engaging topics. The "Mini Session" will include BRL, IBS, and the G&G session named after our official journal, Genes and Genomics. The "Special Session" and "Forum" will focus on BK, Drug R&D, and K-Medi Hub. Additionally, the "Young Scientist" and "Trainee Session" on the first day will provide a platform for the next generation of scholars to present their research, fostering their growth and development in genetics.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, whose generous support has made this conference possible. We encourage you to explore their exhibitions, recruitment booths, and participate in their sponsored seminars.

Immerse yourself in the charm of Busan, Korea's second-largest city and our conference venue. Busan, a globally renowned maritime logistics center and gateway to the Eurasian continent, offers beautiful beaches, breathtaking night views, and a delectable cuisine. All of these delights are conveniently located near BEXCO, the conference venue.

We eagerly anticipate your presence at ICGSK 2023, where meaningful discussions, collaborations, and friendships in the field of genetics await.

Yours sincerely,
